Job Description

The Zone Vice President is Bob’s Culture, Brand, and Customer Experience ambassador for their zone and the company.

They operate a business portfolio consisting of three to five regions, forty plus stores, one thousand plus associates, and upwards of $500 million dollars in revenue. The Zone Vice President stays connected to the field but remains close to Bob’s executive team and store support, acting as a liaison and subject matter expert regarding their associates, customers, and markets. The Zone Vice President is accountable for ensuring the zone and company exceeds their performance targets. They make sure that their teams have the maximum support and our utilizing the tools necessary to perform at the highest level. They lead and communicate in an honest, transparent, and positive way, also known as “The Bob’s Way.”

The ZVP will epitomize Bob’s culture and be the forerunner of sales achievement through talent selection, development, and retention. They will exhibit and maintain an uncompromising level of ethics and integrity. The Zone Vice President will achieve high standards for self and others while displaying exceptional character and steadfast corporate citizenship in the communities in which Bob’s lives and works.

The Zone Vice President will persistently manage and improve both the people and processes within the zone through innovative thinking, proactive analyzation, flawless execution, relentless motivation. and selfless ambition,  The Zone Vice President will constantly be taking initiative, while also keeping Bob’s leadership team in full alignment with their strategy.  The ZVP will enhance the overall brand and create a “best in class” customer and associate experience; setting Bob’s Discount Furniture apart from the competition and establishing BDF as the Furniture Retailer and Employer of choice.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Zone Vice President will directly impact and drive sales performance; they are accountable for the actions and sales performance of their teams

  • The Zone Vice President is accountable for maintaining Bob’s culture throughout their zone. The ZVP is responsible for the morale and associate satisfaction of everyone on their team

  • The Zone Vice President is responsible for the customer experience throughout their zone. Ensuring Bob’s Discount Furniture is “best in class” in this area

  • The Zone Vice president owns the staffing, talent selection, development, accountability, and retention of all associates within the zone

  • The Zone Vice President is accountable for providing clear, consistent direction to their assigned zone and will be responsible for communicating industry and competitor trends to the company

  • The Zone Vice President is expected to be able to analyze the business, identify opportunities and come up with effective strategies to improve and sustain expected performance levels

  • The Zone Vice President is accountable for maintaining clear, honest and transparent communication with the Head of Stores along with the entire senior field leadership team

  • The Zone Vice President will establish relationships and build communication bridges with company departments to influence sales, operational initiatives, coordination of logistics and ease of distribution, while displaying passion and extreme sense of urgency for the business

  • The Zone Vice President will serve the  Zone by ensuring necessary and effective tools are available and utilized to establish and maintain efficient and profitable operations  and will actively seek out exceptional Customer Service Experience opportunities and establish and modify best practice

  • The Zone Vice president holds P & L accountability and will ensure the zone is maximizing profitability through driving sales and controlling costs effectively

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years proven successful retail multi-unit experience

  • 5+ years retail sales leadership experience

  • A self-motivated leader who takes initiative without always being told what to do

  • Track record of success in achieving sales and performance targets. Top quartile performer

  • Track record of success in motivating others to achieve high level customer service rankings

  • Track record of success in building high level, positive work cultures

  • Proven ability to take initiative

  • Proven ability to identify, develop and retain talent

  • Proven ability to drive results and execution by working through others

  • Proven ability to hold teams and individuals accountable to achieve results

  • Proven ability to use sound judgment and decision making

  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems and recognize root cause

  • Proven ability to set clear goals and expectations for themselves and their teams

  • Proven ability to be intuitive and identify and fix issues before they escalate

  • Proven ability to communicate directly, effectively, consistently, and utilize all communication tools appropriately

  • Proven ability to manage and continually improve processes. Desire to always grow
