Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, the Vice President, Compensation and Benefits, will be a member of the Human Resources leadership team. The Vice President will drive the design and implementation of all compensation programs at Bob's as well as oversee benefits and wellness programs and practices. The VP will play a crucial role in ensuring that the rewards strategies and tactics the company needs to be successful are implemented effectively. The Company's senior business leaders are committed to continuously building value for both customers and associates and ensuring that Bob's remains a preferred place to work. The successful candidate will be someone who brings technical excellence, a strong service orientation and exceptional business acumen to the role. The VP, Compensation and Benefits is responsible for the strategy, research, implementation, communication and overall management of the company's compensation programs, as well as the oversight, communication and delivery of all benefits services. The role will manage the comp and benefits team and will partner with HR and business leaders to execute both short and long-term objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop a compensation and benefits philosophy and statement aligned with Bob's mission. Ensure associates in the field understand the value of the rewards programs in their totality
  • Manage the design and administration of the Company's compensation programs, ensuring the total rewards of base pay, incentive pay, and long-term rewards are aligned with business objectives and overall corporate goals and strategies
  • Assure internal equity and external competitiveness of the company's compensation through strategic monitoring of business conditions, competitive practices, legal requirements and an ongoing understanding of industry best practices
  • Maintain and actively manage a corporate-wide, compensation and benefits communication strategy to ensure employees are educated regarding company practices, initiatives and general market trends
  • Conduct an assessment and a refresh of base pay programs across the organization for both hourly workers and professional staff
  • Assess and develop short and long-term incentive programs
  • Review all recognition programs to ensure value. Drive the communication of all programs
  • Lead the company's benefits programs and practice, managing benefits function to ensure timely communication and implementation of benefits and services
  • Serve as a thought leader and provide strategic insight as to trends in benefits and cost/value of various benefits initiatives
  • Lead, develop and grow the team, with an emphasis on teamwork, collaboration and service

Required Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have proven experience in building collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. Significant experience building robust reward programs in a distributed environment, ideally retail, is required. This leader must have the passion, energy and intellectual curiosity necessary for a fast-paced, growth-driven retail environment
  • Best-in-class HR practices experience gained at companies recognized for excellence in the human resources function
  • Expertise in compensation & benefits program design & implementation, effective project management and program communications, change management and developing reward systems that drive high-performing organizations
  • Expertise in executive compensation, short and long-term incentive plans, and sales commission design and delivery
  • Established track record of driving and delivering results
  • Ideally experienced in retail or service-oriented companies where HR has played a strong and impactful role
