Job Description

Routing Specialist
Location: San Bernardino

Routing specialists are responsible for several time sensitive tasks to support multiple departments in coordinating a successful delivery or service for our customers while also maintaining well organized runs for our delivery carriers and service technicians. 

Responsibilities:


•    Sharepoint and Routing inbox – keeping up with all requests sent to Routing from multiple departments
•    TO/IST routing – applying a truck to all orders and merchandise sent to stores for customer pick up
•    Stop maintenance – using basic math and data entry we maintain stops for customers to schedule deliveries and services
•    Add on's – researching existing delivery and service runs to decide whether or not last minute delivery or service requests can be accommodated
•    Cancellations – unlocking or removing customers from existing delivery and service runs upon request
•    Driver assignments – ensuring all depots have provided our department with the drivers they assign to each truck
•    Dispatch Track – importing delivery and service information onto each drivers tablet for their delivery or service day
•    Reroutes – researching existing delivery and service runs to try to accommodate last minute time frame requests for customers
•    Second day routing – creating delivery runs by utilizing any unused delivery trucks post original routing
•    Assist Routing Department heads - projects/testing
•    Adapting well to change in order to benefit the department
•    Team commitment and communication skills 

Required Qualifications:


•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Types 35-40 words per minute
•    Strong English verbal/written communication and organizational skills
•    Skilled at multi-tasking and toggling through multiple screens
•    Preferred but not required skills and knowledge in SAP, EWM, Outlook, Roadnet, Excel, Sharepoint, Citrix, Dispatch Track
•    Detail oriented and accurate
•    Strong problem solving and decision making skills
•    Must be able to work flexible hours determined by the needs of the department including overtime, weekends and evenings.

Decision Making Responsibilities:


Work is performed within standard practices with significant opportunity for un-supervised decision making.

Financial Responsibilities:


Effectiveness of all essential duties and responsibilities directly impacts Bob’s Discount Furniture LLC and contracted depots financially. Routing Specialist is held accountable for ensuring they handle their workload efficiently and to the best of their abilities.

Training:
All necessary training for this position will be paid on-the-job training.  Training will occur on site. 

Shift: Shifts vary. Routing department is potentially open 24 hours 7 days a week.  Overtime as needed, including holidays and paid specific to applicable all state and local laws.
