Job Description

This position ensures that all delivery operations conducted within an assigned area comply with the performance and safety standards set by Bob’s Discount Furniture and that Customer Sales and Service is made the highest of priority. 

This role will oversee the following areas:  Minneapolis, Des Moines, St Louis and Kansas City.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Operations Management, Customer Care Management, Store Management and Delivery Management including subcontractors
  • Conduct weekly visits to each assigned satellite location(s)
    • Perform site inspections
    • Conduct weekly meetings
  • Provide training in applicable systems/procedures.
  • Provide guidance regarding operation of company owned equipment (where applicable)
  • Communicate and enforces standards of operations for off-site delivery depots which consist of Bob’s Discount Furniture employees where applicable including:
    • Conducting on the road evaluations
    • Monitoring Quality Control and Customer Satisfaction
    • Providing consistent performance feedback and taking appropriate corrective actions
  • Monitor off-site subcontractor delivery operations as assigned to insure that contract performance standards are maintained and complied with including:
    • Compliance with contract including delivery standards
    • Provide input regarding vendor charge backs to subcontractor

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in each of the following areas:
    • Managerial position
    • Product Delivery or related experience
    • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
    • Self-motivated
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to analyze information and solve problems
  • Ability to motivate/develop others
  • Ability to consistently travel to offsite locations
  • Ability to work flexible schedule as department needs dictate
  • Strong computer abilities
    • Competent in Word, Excel, Outlook
    • Ability to master applicable software such as RP, SAP, Roadnet and Paychex etc
    • Ability to operate RF system

Preferred Qualifications

  • College Degree
  • Familiarity with wood, upholstery, bedding, and leather furniture
  • Experience in alternate Big Ticket Retail a plus

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Regional Delivery Manager I or Regional Director Delivery Operations
  • Direct Reports as follows:
    • Subcontractor run depots require no direct supervisory responsibilities
    • Company run depots require supervisory responsibilities over depot manager/depot supervisor
