Job Description

Bob’s Discount Furniture is currently searching for a highly motivated Human Resources Generalist for our Distribution Center. The HRG will assist location managers with HR issues and help with the implementation of services, policies, and programs. This person will contribute to the accomplishment of Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

o A successful candidate will boast a strong knowledge of Human Resources practices, have experience with employee relations and confidential investigations, will possess excellent communication and organizations skills and have an effective understanding of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). In addition, this person will have the ability to work in a fast pace environment, multi-task and have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.


Job Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and staffing logistics for non-exempt positions
  • Performance management and improvement tracking systems
  • Employee orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping
  • Employee relations
  • Company employee communication
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting; and employee services
  • Maintaining employee files and the HR filing system services
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • High attention to detail
  • 4  years minimum Human Resources experience
  • Solid understanding of applicable laws
  • Full understanding of HRIS
  • Full understanding and competence on Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Full understanding of Distribution Center Management and business acumen
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to use sound judgment


Reporting Relationships

  •  The HRG will report to the Regional Director of Human Resources, and will have responsibility to support multiple departments, which includes approximately 100+ employees.
