The primary function of a DC Operations Manager is to direct the Warehouse, Distribution, Building, Inventory Management and related operations for assigned facility. This position provides vision and leadership to ensure all warehouse operational guidelines, safety compliance and protocols are adhered to, productivity standards are maintained and continuous improvement and new ways of operating are part of the culture.  The DC Operations Manager also ensures that Customer Sales & Service is maintained at the highest priority; ensures the development of team through communication, coaching, and corrective action; and interacts with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate flow of information.  This position reports to the Director of DC2 Operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership to ensure all warehouse operational guidelines, safety compliance and protocols are adhered to, productivity standards are maintained and continuous improvement and new ways of operating are part of the culture
  • Ensures that Customer Sales & Service is maintained at the highest priority
  • Ensure the development of team through communication, coaching, and corrective action
  • Interact with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate flow of information
  • Partner with HR with recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, disciplining, and promoting persons for the DC as needed
  • Enforce housekeeping standards to provide a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by inspection, repair, and contracted maintenance
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions

  • Excellent identification of key causes -- Identifying the things that must be changed to achieve a goal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Big Ticket or Furniture industry big plus
  • 10+ years Warehouse Management experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and WMS (SAP and EWM)
  • Customer Service experience
