Job Description

Looking for a solution-oriented, creative problem solver to partner with the General Counsel in supporting the growth of one of the nation’s fastest growing furniture retailers.  You will have a front seat (and help drive) the growth of the internal legal function and act as a true business partner to various aspects of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage corporate record books for multiple entities

  • Create and manage organizational documents for subsidiaries

  • Prepare, file and maintain state filings or foreign qualifications for multiple entities, as well as filings for non-U.S. entities

  • Assist in the preparation of Board and committee materials, including minutes, resolutions and written consents

  • Assist with review and drafting of certain agreements and contract templates

  • Support contract execution and electronic filing process

  • Work with lease administration function to manage real estate matters and internal databases for compliance

  • Complete ad-hoc and special projects or legal research as requested/required


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 4+ years of relevant corporate experience at a law firm or in-house legal department

  • Experience prioritizing, organizing, and tracking details to manage multiple projects with varying completion dates

  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; confidence working with, and learning, other applications, and tools

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Collaborative and engaged team player

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive matters


Preferred Qualifications

  • Notary (or willing to become notary)
