Job Description

The Security Engineer will work with a joint team of Information Technology, Security and Infrastructure Engineers to implement, monitor and improve Bob’s Discount Furniture Technology Security Program. 


  • Lead IT-Security projects to envision, define and implement improved cyber-security processes and systems, such as improved Secure Coding Practices, Identity and Access Management(IAM), Secure Network Design and Continuous Monitoring
  • Prepare risk assessments and security authorization documentation
  • Work with Infrastructure and Networking teams to review processes and implement process improvements and contribute to Risk Based Assessments of Bob’s security program
  • Prepare reports and presentations for IT and Security Management and support security audits
  • Technically Manage third party SOC and associated log feeds and SOC generated tickets
  • Manage Security Specific Devices – Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), Network Access Control (Forescout) wIPS (Cisco)
  • Stay up to date on all security related notifications, determine risk and priority

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ technical experience in multiple client environments on a consultative basis with an emphasis in information security, engineering or architecture
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize in a high volume environment with competing demands
  • Networking Experience: Current Windows OS, VMware ESXi, Business Class Hardware Firewalls (Cisco ASA and Palo Alto, Barracuda), VPN Appliances, SPAM

    and Web Filters; business-class wireless solutions

  • Industry related degree is preferred
