HRIS Specialist ( Partial Remote Work )

The HRIS Specialist is a key resource on Bob’s Human Resources Team. This position supports implementation and maintenance of our Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits, Compensation, Performance Management, and eLearning processes that are executed through Workday HRIS. The HRIS Specialist will be the first point of contact for HRIS execution, issue resolution, end user guidance, and day-to-day processes and reporting. We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about a career in Human Resources, as this role can lead to both a continuing career in the HRIS specialty, or could lead to a career in any of the HR disciplines that this role supports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide end users and business partners assistance with inquiries and troubleshooting of errors or issues; recognize opportunities for business process improvement
  • Manage HRIS related inquiries via email and/or ticketing system
  • Validate that processes are being executed as expected (proper outcomes, timely execution, etc.) through regular data audits within Workday, to ensure data integrity
  • Perform Workday administration activities such as security/access administration, updating employee records or business processes to ensure proper and timely outcomes, and managing workflow activities assigned to HRIS
  • Generate and execute basic reports or queries and provide summaries of data for use in analysis or decision making
  • Support of strategic HRIS initiatives and system upgrades in the form of business process testing, end user documentation, and roll-out communication/issue resolution
  • Special HRIS projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of HRIS, payroll, or systems experience involving process execution, data management, issue resolution, and end-user customer service
  • Strong customer service orientation and accountability to problem resolution and end user support
  • Adept and comfortable with the use of technology hardware and software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to audit data and recognize data issues and inconsistencies
  • Ability to prioritize daily issues, tasks, and projects, and flexibility to change tasks and priorities when necessary
  • Strong process orientation. Ability to understand execution steps and related dependencies
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency and acumen with Microsoft Excel (i.e., formulas, vlookups, pivot tables preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated judgement and discretion in managing confidential data and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience as a user and/or admin of the Workday system
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business IT/Systems, or related fields; or equivalent comparable/related experience

Supervisory Responsibility

  • The HRIS Specialist is an individual contributor and does not have any direct reports

Work Environment

  • High level of collaboration with various business partners within and outside of the Bobs’ HR Department. 
  • Ongoing phone, email and report monitoring communication with business partners. 

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and operate a computer and telephone

Expected Hours of Work and Travel

  • The HRIS Specialist is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Overtime work may be required in certain situations but should not be expected as the norm. Regular, predictable attendance is required.
